At the base of Gros Piton is a small community called Fonds Gen Libre meaning Valley of the Free People where you can meet with your guide to begin your ascent of the mountain. The hike typically takes about four hours including your way back. At each quarter, there’s a bench for hikers to catch their breath, sip on some water, or just ask any questions. At the halfway make, you will have the chance to capture some incredible shots of Petit Piton. Many exotic plants and animals call this place home.

Your aching muscles will be well worthwhile when you finally reach the summit. The view is just simply remarkable!
